I have thought alot about what I wanted to accomplish this winter as I am not one to sit on my hands and do nothing.  Wink

For a start I want to make another pair of jeans as it was fun and it is so hard to find the 'perfect' fit in the stores. Next on the list is some new shirts. I have umpteen patterns and want to try them all, winter gives me the prime opportunity because there isn't anything to do outside.  Tongue I have a friend who made a beautiful pair of crocheted mittens so I plan to look up the pattern and give it a try. I haven't decided what to knit so will 'wing' it for the time being.

Before I start sewing like a maniac, I should probably finish that quilt that I started last year. all that is left is to bind it. (I even have it all hand quilted....... ) Smiley

This is my winter plan. Anyone else have one???  Cool

Hiya Bethani,
Wow, you sound busy, maybe when you have completed all the things on your list you could do me a shirt . . .
Oh and a pair of hand-made jeans wouldn't be refused either !

Hi Bethani! Hand made jeans! I am impressed. I can't find any that fit right in the stores either, but making any kind of pants is out of my league. I can make shirts and dresses and skirts, but not pants. Maybe one day I will take the time to learn. It sure would be a great skill to have.

Hiya Jon,

Hey, why not?! You send me your measurements....................and I will send you the right sized pattern Cool I'll even include the notions.....  Wink

Trisha, the jeans really aren't too hard to make, I was surprised at the ease of them but thrilled about it!!  Grin It is a great skill, no more store jeans for me.........unless I don't feel like making them.... Smiley

As far as what I'd like to do this winter...well, I want to finish a fine thread crocheted pillow. Start some gift ideas for the holidays...I'm making my own patterns so I never know how it will be, until I am done. Smiley I might make a new braided rug for the house and finish a mud room rug that I am making out of twine off of the hay bales. Possibly a few children's outfits as well....dunno.

Trisha, If you can do the shirts, skirts etc you'll do fine making the jeans! Pants really aren't that hard...only when you are first learning. They have great patterns out now that even make it so you can be 'in style' with the ones you do make. If or when you want to try, let us know, we'll do our best to help ya!

I think making flannel shirts (like the working type) are hard! I just need to try sometime as those are the most comfortable shirts to wear during chore time (warm in the winter and even cool in the summer!)

Rena,
Thanks for the offer of help. If I ever get brave enough to try pants, I will sure need it!
Funny you say that about flannel shirts in the summer. I often wonder about that when I see farmers wearing them in the heat of summer, how in the world these guys don't get hear stroke with their long sleeves. I am sure there is some scientific reason why you are cool in the summer with them.
